Each of our waist beads are made with AT LEAST 48 inches of beading. This sizing usually fits individuals that wear up to a size US 3X. Individuals smaller than a 3X can easily cut to the size of their choosing when tying on.

Waist beads are constructed with strong cotton thread and different sizes and designs of glass seed beads.

African waist beads are quite cultural. They can be worn by ANYBODY and it's that individuals decision to decide their use. Common cultural uses are for body shaping, weight tracking, fertility, femininity, and self love.

Yes! You can fully submerge them in water. Shower, pool, beach, or just sweating at the gym, these waist beads can be wet without being damaged.

Our tie on waist bead application is actually quite simple. 

  1. Push all the beads together, making sure there's no space in between beads. (Space may cause slight skin pinching)
  2. Leave room at both ends for tying.
  3. Figure out where you want your waist beads to sit and position them accordingly. 
  4. Slide excess beads to one end of the waist bead. 
  5. Tie your first knot, as if tying a shoe lace. 
  6. Keep your first knot TIGHT while you create your second knot. Repeat.
  7. Cut off excess string and bead by using scissors to cut close to your knot. (NOT TOO CLOSE)

NOTE: LEAVE ROOM FOR BLOATING! Do not tie them on too tight because you will need some wiggle room.

You can wear your waist beads as often as you like. They are popular vacation items, statement pieces in regular day to day outfits, and your little secret when worn underneath your clothes😉.

Our tie on waist beads are meant to be worn until they no longer can't and pop. Usually this happens after weight gain or extensive wear. To remove them simply cut the string. Lay a towel or have a container near by to collect the beads.

The beauty of waist beads, is that there's no such thing as TOO MANY. The more you have on, the better they look. Go crazy and have fun with it!
